With so many gorgeous flowers blooming, we are thrilled to re-open to the public. Mother’s Day is forecasted to be sunny and in the upper 60s, so it’s the perfect opportunity to bring your mom out for some garden shopping. Our 10″ annual hanging baskets are 20% off until May 10th but we have a wide variety of flowering shrubs, perennials, and trees available at the farm.

Petunias are one of the most popular flowers. Grandiflora petunias grow very large and thrive in hanging baskets, with their billowing blooms cascading down the sides, basking in sunlight. We have a wide selection of petunia annuals in a kaleidoscope of colors including the stunning polka dotted ‘Night Sky’ variety. Petunias should be watered frequently, daily if possible. Remove faded flowers for optimal bloom. Petunias can be used for floral arrangements so feel free to cut a stem or two every once in a while for your vases.

‘Night Sky’ Petunia 10″ Hanging Basket

This flower does best in hanging baskets as Geranium’s vines can grow up to 18 inches long. For maximum bloom, make sure your hanging basket gets 4-6 hours of sunlight. Allow soil to dry between watering and then give your Geranium a good soaking. Deadhead spent flowers for maximum blooming.

Fuchsia plants are beautiful two-toned annuals with exotic flowers resembling dainty ballerinas. They thrive in hanging baskets and respond well to pruning dead or overlapping branches. Fuchsia prefers partial sunlight and may react poorly in direct sunlight or excessively hot conditions. Keep its soil moist and your plant will produce prolific flowers all bloom season. Fuchsia is actually a perennial plant and can be brought inside for the winter where it will safely enter dormancy until spring.
