Petite Knock Out Rose

Rosa ‘Meibenbino’

Petite Knock Out Rose is a compact miniature landscape rose prized for its nonstop bright red blooms, exceptional disease resistance, and perfectly rounded dwarf habit. From spring through frost, it produces abundant clusters of vibrant fire-engine red flowers that continuously cover the plant with bold color. The blooms are smaller than traditional Knock Out roses but appear in heavy quantities, creating a full, colorful display over an extended season.

This naturally compact rose typically reaches just 18 inches tall and wide, making it ideal for small gardens, edging, containers, patio plantings, and front-of-border use. Its tidy, mounded shape requires very little pruning to maintain, and the dense, dark green foliage provides a clean backdrop for the vivid blooms throughout the growing season.

Petite Knock Out is especially valued for bringing the same easy-care performance and strong disease resistance of larger Knock Out roses into a smaller space-saving form. It offers excellent resistance to black spot and powdery mildew while continuing to flower heavily with minimal maintenance. Unlike many miniature roses that can be finicky or short-lived, this variety is vigorous, durable, and landscape-ready.

Care Instructions:

Planting: Plant in full sun with good airflow for the strongest flowering and disease resistance.
Soil: Use fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Watering: Water regularly during establishment. Roses are moderately drought-tolerant once established.
Fertilizing: Feed in spring and midsummer with a balanced rose fertilizer if needed.
Pruning: Lightly prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and vigor.
Spacing: Space plants 18–24 inches apart for mature growth and airflow.
Maintenance: Deadheading is not required for repeat blooming.

This rose thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil with regular watering during establishment. Once established, it tolerates heat, humidity, and periods of drought extremely well. A light pruning in late winter or early spring helps refresh the plant and encourage vigorous new flowering growth.

Its compact size, nonstop red blooms, and low-maintenance reliability make Petite Knock Out Rose an outstanding choice for containers, borders, and colorful small-space gardens.
