Espoma Organic Bulb-tone Fertilizer

Espoma Organic Bulb-tone is a natural and organic plant food formulated specifically for spring and fall flowering bulbs. Its 3-5-3 fertilizer analysis provides a balanced supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to support healthy bulb growth, strong roots, and colorful blooms. The formula is made from a blend of natural and organic ingredients, including feather meal, poultry manure, bone meal, alfalfa meal, greensand, sulfate of potash, and sulfate of potash magnesia.

Bulb-tone is enhanced with beneficial Bio-tone microbes and contains 2.4% slow-release nitrogen, providing a long-lasting source of nutrients rather than a quick burst of feeding. The formula also supplies calcium, magnesium, sulfur, and humic acids. It is designed for a wide range of bulbs and bulb-like plants, including tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths, iris, lilies, gladioli, dahlias, cannas, caladiums, anemones, peonies, and other flowering bulbs.

Application Instructions:

  • For new individual bulbs, place 1½ heaping teaspoons of Bulb-tone into the planting hole and cover with soil.
  • For new row plantings, mix 1½ lbs. of Bulb-tone into the soil for each 25 feet of row.
  • For new bed plantings, apply 4 lbs. per 60 square feet and mix into the soil at or below the bulb planting depth.
  • For established individual bulbs, apply 1½ heaping teaspoons around each plant, keeping the fertilizer 2–3 inches away from the bulb stem.
  • For established bed plantings, apply 4 lbs. per 60 square feet and wash any fertilizer from the foliage.
  • Feed spring- and summer-planted bulbs when plants reach approximately 6 inches in height.
  • Feed fall-planted bulbs after spring bloom.
  • Dahlias and gladioli can be fed monthly during the growing season.
  • Incorporate the fertilizer into the soil below newly planted bulbs.
  • Broadcast the fertilizer onto the soil surface around established bulbs.
  • Water thoroughly after application.
  • Do not apply fertilizer to frozen soil.
  • Wear gardening gloves when handling and applying the product.
