Espoma Organic Berry-tone
Espoma Organic Berry-tone is a natural and organic fertilizer formulated specifically for fruiting berry plants. The 4-3-4 fertilizer analysis provides a balanced combination of nutrients to support healthy plant growth, strong roots, flowering, and abundant fruit production. It is specially formulated for blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, making it a practical choice for gardeners growing edible berries at home.
The slow-release formula provides nutrients gradually over time, helping plants receive consistent feeding rather than a quick surge of nutrients. Berry-tone is enhanced with humates and beneficial microbes and contains elemental sulfur to help acidify the soil. This is particularly useful for acid-loving blueberries, which perform best when grown in appropriately acidic soil. The formula is made from natural and organic ingredients and contains no sludges or fillers.
Application Instructions:
- Use on blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.
- Feed twice per year, once in early spring and again in late spring, approximately 45–60 days after the first application.
- For individual plants, apply 1 cup per foot of branch spread.
- Double the quantity when branch spread is 3 feet or larger.
- For new berry beds, mix 10 lbs. per 100 square feet into the top 4–5 inches of soil.
- For established berry beds, apply 5 lbs. per 100 square feet.
- Sprinkle the recommended amount around the plant’s drip line.
- Water thoroughly after application.
- If the area is mulched, temporarily remove the mulch before feeding or double the application rate when applying over the mulch.
- Never apply fertilizer to frozen soil.
