Rock Salt Ron's Premium Halite
Rock Salt Ron’s® Premium Halite is a basic, widely used de-icing salt [essentially natural rock salt (halite)] designed to melt ice and snow on sidewalks, driveways, steps, roads, and other outdoor surfaces. This rock salt works by lowering the freezing point of water, helping to break the bond between ice and the surface so snow and ice can be removed more easily. As a traditional, no-frills de-icer, it is often chosen for its broad availability, effectiveness under typical freezing conditions, and low cost compared with some more specialized melts.
When spread across ice- or snow-covered pavement, Rock Salt Ron’s Premium Halite crystals dissolve and begin acting rapidly, producing brine that helps weaken ice adhesion and facilitates melting with minimal physical effort. Because it is essentially pure sodium chloride, it is less reactive than some chemical de-icers. Under many circumstances, this makes handling, storage, and transport relatively simple compared to more aggressive chemical melts. Application Tips:
Placement: Spread evenly over snow- or ice-covered surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, steps, parking lots, or walkways as needed.
