Autumn Coral Encore Azalea
Rhododendron 'Conled'Autumn Coral Encore Azalea is a charming addition to any garden, offering soft coral-pink blossoms with a hint of salmon that bloom not just in spring, but again in summer and fall. Its compact form makes it a popular choice for foundation plantings, low hedges, or colorful borders. The consistent reblooming performance ensures that your garden stays lively and colorful across three seasons.
As part of the Encore Azalea series, Autumn Coral is specially bred to tolerate more sun than traditional azaleas. It performs best in 4–6 hours of sunlight daily and thrives when planted in slightly acidic, well-draining soil. Its evergreen foliage remains dense and healthy year-round, offering structure and interest even when it’s not in bloom.
Low-maintenance and highly ornamental, this azalea works beautifully in both formal and informal designs. It’s ideal for pairing with other Encore varieties or shade-loving companions like ferns and hostas. Whether used as a specimen plant or in mass plantings, Autumn Coral® brings elegance and seasonal versatility to the landscape.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Planting: Choose a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, or filtered sunlight all day. Plant in slightly acidic, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Space 3 feet apart.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during establishment and blooming periods. Use mulch to conserve moisture and maintain soil temperature.
Pruning: Minimal pruning is needed. Lightly prune after the spring bloom to maintain shape. Avoid pruning after midsummer to ensure fall blooms.
Pest Control: Generally pest-resistant, but check occasionally for lace bugs or spider mites. Use insecticidal soap if necessary.
Soil Tips: Requires acidic soil (pH 5.5–6.5) that drains well. Incorporate compost or peat moss when planting. Apply mulch annually to maintain acidity and moisture.
